Lone Star SRT and the CommunityAs part of the mission statement for the Sons of the Republic of Texas, we set high standards for ourselves within the community. We strive to assist where possible in securing Texas Holidays, preserve relics from the Republic of Texas period, and promote Texas history in general. We are constantly searching for partners in the corporate world who also like to give back to the community. We are very fond of attending many festivals in our area. This year, we have attended the Walker county Genealogy event, the San Jacinto Day Festival, and the Sawmill Festival. LOOK for our booth at events which reflect on our history! We want to undertake projects that help promote interest or historical preservation in the Republic of Texas. If you know of anyway we can help our community, please contact us at events@lonestarsrt.org Awards
Projects We will be sponsoring a grave site dedication, memorial construction, and marking service for Dr. Charles Stewart, who is an outstanding figure in the history of Texas. The dedication will occur at the "New" Montgomery Cemetery where Dr. Stewart is buried.
More Information on Dr. Stewart's Project can be found here:
Help us make the dream come true for the Lone Star Monument and Historical Flag Park! This is a recent (Nov 07) project added by the LSCSRT and we need supporters. For more information, please visit our webpage here
